If you answered Yes to these questions, we invite you to learn more about our opening for an Insider Threat (IT) Data Analyst. The mid?level IT Insider Threat Data Analyst assists the senior IT Data/Cyber Analyst and IT Team Leader in conducting counterintelligence and IT related activities and analysis to assess threats to LANL and national security posed by covert or overt activities of LANL personnel or foreign entities. The IT Data Analyst also assists with a diverse range of analytical products and support, including providing expertise to multiple members of the U.S. Intelligence Community (USIC) and other government agencies. Local analytical assistance efforts will support national insider threat goals and objectives as directed by the LANL Foreign Immigration, Visits and Analysis (FVA) Group Leader and Office of Counterintelligence (OCI) Director.
The IT Data Analyst will be responsible for assisting with the development of all source strategic and tactical research, analysis and writing, to include the production of finished assessments and raw reports. In addition, the analyst will assist and support the development of tailor?made operations and insider threat analytical tools and assist with the collection, analysis and documentation of information pertinent to insider threat related matters and insider threat awareness briefings. Contributions to due diligence efforts and collaboration across OCI components, with other components of the LANL Field Intelligence Element (FIE), and with other LANL personnel as appropriate will also be required of the position. Aiding in the development of extensive collaborations with Associate Laboratory Director for Defense Protection personnel, DOE IN, other DOE Counterintelligence and Insider Threat Field Offices, and extensive liaison with the FBI and other USIC members, to include assisting OCI personnel on various working groups and the planning and organizing of a local IT working group, will also be expected. Finally, the analyst will assist other OCI personnel with intelligence and insider threat briefings/presentations to laboratory personnel and DOE seniors that may inform or impact DOE policy throughout the department.
The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Clearance: Q/SCI (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. Obtaining such clearance requires U.S. citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18?years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new?employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre?offer.
Term status: Laboratory employees applying for regular?status positions are converted to regular status.
