Our program provides support for a large Information Technology (IT) system for the Department of War (DoW). This program provides engineering support for all system elements, including development (hardware, software, and networks), systems and security engineering (integration, testing, and deployment), sustainment (logistics and field support), Network Operations Center (NOC)/Help Desk, and government user training support for the user community. The Mid-Level Cyber Software Engineer responsibilities include:/pulliBuilding proofs of concept for one-of-a-kind capabilities./liliDeveloping innovative solutions to modify and integrate multiple different kinds of software components into a cohesive, unified system./liliPerforming peer testing and code review./liliTroubleshooting and debugging issues./liliContributing to all levels of the architecture./liliMaintaining technical documentation./liliDeveloping familiarity with new tools and best practices./liliCollaborating with your team to author technical reports and demonstrate capabilities to both internal and external stakeholders./li/ulpThis role requires on-site support Mon-Fri. This program allows for a flexible work schedule and is walking distance from a Metro station./ph3Qualifications/h3pRequired Qualifications:/pulliAbility to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SCI security clearance. US Citizenship is required to obtain a US security clearance./liliNOTE: SECRET clearance is required to start. Any offer to an UNCLEARED candidate is contingent upon successful adjudication of a SECRET clearance. If the uncleared candidate accepts the offer, Peraton will submit for SECRET clearance. Upon successful adjudication, a start date will be set and continued clearance processing toward TOP SECRET / SCI will be performed./liliBachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or another technical field with five (5) years of experience, Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or another technical field with three (3) years of experience, or a High School Diploma / GED with nine (9) years of relevant experience/liliActive Security+ Certification, or equivalent, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months from start date./liliStrong knowledge of C/C++/liliSoftware development experience/liliExperience writing, testing, and debugging software/liliExperience with version control, issue tracking, and documentation tools/liliExcellent verbal and written communication skills/liliAbility to work both independently and collaboratively/li/ulpDesired Qualifications:/pulliAn Active/Current Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility/liliStrong knowledge of Linux operating systems/liliLinux development experience at user and kernel levels/liliExperience modifying and compiling large open-source codebases/liliExperience with containerization technologies such as Docker/liliExperience with DevSecOps tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Coverity, SonarQube/liliExperience with dnf package management using local repositories/li/ulpTarget Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individuals experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
