STAR Financial Credit Union began in 1959 to provide the employees of Pontiac Refinery, which later became CITGO Refinery, with quality financial services. Over the past 60 years, the credit union has grown to include almost 100 additional companies that want to provide their employees with the same benefits. What started out in a little office on the grounds of the refinery has grown to two full-service office locations and over 4,600 loyal members. The companies in STAR Financial CUs field of membership have expanded to include oil field related industries, the medical community, and others. STAR Financial CU offers its members exceptional service, convenient locations, and competitive products and services. Overview
Exceeding $50 million in assets and located in Corpus Christi, Texas, STAR Financial Credit Union is currently seeking a credit union professional to assume the role of President/CEO. Working with the board of directors, this individual will be responsible for fostering a culture deeply rooted in strong communication, coaching, and mentoring. The board is seeking an individual with exemplary leadership qualities to develop a cohesive staff, create stability within the credit union, and establish a strong brand within the community. The ideal candidate will possess a holistic understanding of credit union operations to include retail banking, accounting, and lending. The successful candidate will have five plus years of leadership experience within the credit union industry, have proven people management skills, highly effective written and verbal communication skills, and bring a strategic vision to the organization. Bachelors degree is strongly preferred.
